Riffe’s appointment comes after the vacancy created by longtime Regional President John Silberstein’s appointment to the RAF, Inc. board of directors. Riffe is a 1992 initiate of the Theta Psi Chapter at Chapman University. He served as chapter advisor to his chapter from 2000-2009. He currently serves as a member of the Theta Psi Housing Corporation, serving on the board since 2000. Riffe is also a seven-time recipient of the Theta Psi Alumnus of the Year award and founding president of the Orange County Area Alumni Association serving in that capacity from 2002-2005. He is currently a member of the San Diego Area Alumni Association and a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Foundation’s President’s Council and Oak Trust. As an alumnus member of Chapman University, Riffe served on the Board of Trustees from 2003-2008. He also served on the University’s Alumni Board of Directors from 2002-2009, serving as president from 2004-2007. He is the 2002 recipient of the Chapman University Young Alumnus of the Year Award and the 2007 Chapman University Alumnus of the Year. Professionally, Riffe is a certified public accountant, serving as chief financial officer of Innovative Healthcare Management in San Diego, California. Regional presidents are charged with the vital role of recruiting and supporting Pi Kappa Alpha’s alumnus volunteers – chapter advisors, house corporation officers and alumni association leaders. Regional presidents volunteer to serve a two-year term as a representative of the Fraternity in their particular geographic region. Pi Kappa Alpha has 20 regions in North America. The Supreme Council of The Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity would like to thank John Silberstein for 13 years of volunteer service as Golden West regional president. During that time, Silberstein has played an integral role in helping to transition the regional president’s role during the implementation of PIKE University in the mid 2000’s. Silberstein has also made a positive impact on the chapters in the Golden West through the development of volunteer opportunities within the region. Silberstein will continue his volunteer service to PIKE on the international level with his appointment as a risk awareness advisor to Pi Kappa Alpha. Silberstein brings a wealth of experience to this advisory position through his work with USA Hockey as its Pacific District risk manager. In this position, Silberstein assists USA Hockey with its insurance and risk management programs and activities. Silberstein is a founding father and 1985 initiate of the Theta Psi Chapter at Chapman University. Prior to his service as regional president, Silberstein served as chapter advisor to his home chapter from 1998-2001. He also continues to be the contact for the Theta Psi Housing Corporation, a position he has held since 1998. Buck (Southeast Missouri State, Epsilon Iota ’95) has announced the following changes to the Memorial Headquarters staff:<br /> <br /> Deniger Cobb (Delta State, Zeta Beta ’07) has been promoted to associate director of volunteer development.As a consultant, Cobb traveled the Dixie and Bluegrass regions. As associate director of volunteer development he will assist the director of volunteer development in the recruitment, retention, and ongoing communication efforts of our alumni advisory boards and assist in the development of resources for all volunteers.<br /> <br /> Lance Horner (McNeese State, Lambda Upsilon ‘10) has been promoted to director of services-west.During his consultant year, Horner provided consulting services to chapters in the Lone Star and Rockies regions. The director of chapter services coordinates chapter consultant travel and visits, develops member educational programming and serves as the primary liaison to chapters and school support personnel.<br /> <br /> Reuben Rodriguez (Bowling Green State, Delta Beta ‘07) has been promoted to director of real estate. As a consultant, Rodriguez provided consulting services to chapters in the Arkoma and Delta regions. As director of real estate he is the primary contact for chapters And house corporations on all housing related matters. In addition, he will oversee the real estate related educational and support materials of the Fraternity, and be directly involved with all programs and operations of the Real Estate Department and White Horse Capital, Inc.<br /> <br /> Danny Ryan (Missouri Science & Technology, Alpha Kappa ‘06) has been promoted to director of chapter resources. During his consultant year, Ryan provided consulting services to chapters in the Great Plains and Northwest Regions. As director of chapter resources he will be responsible for the updating and overhaul of all sample and chapter related programming as well as building a robust online training system for chapter officers.<br /> <br /> Daniel Stockton (Central Oklahoma, Lambda Iota ‘06) has been promoted to director of expansion. As a consultant, Stockton provided consulting services to chapters in the Great Lakes and Keystone regions. As director of expansion, he will contribute to the growth of the Fraternity through the establishment of new chapters with our proprietary expansion process, prospect colleges and universities, coordinate staff to recruit new members, assemble advisory boards for colonies, and provide the resources for new chapters to become installed.<br /> <br /> Executive Vice President Buck added, “All have done an outstanding job for us this past year as chapter consultants and while on expansion. We are fortunate to have them continuing on with the Fraternity.”<br /> <br /> Justin D. True (Old Dominion, Zeta Iota ’08) has been hired as associate director of communication and marketing. A new addition to the Memorial Headquarters staff, True brings a tremendous amount of Fraternity experience to the role, most recently as chapter president and ODU’s student body president. True holds a bachelor of science degree in communication with a major in public relations and minor in marketing, and has had several marketing internships. As associate director of communication and marketing, he will be responsible for managing all marketing and public relations functions related to Pi Kappa Alpha’s full menu of products and services, including Pike University and real estate activities; developing and providing marketing and public relations programs that promote chapter and regional events; and planning and implementing marketing and public relations programs to increase membership growth and retention.<br /> <br /> Deadline for Autumn 2011 Shield & Diamond:<br /> <br /> Materials for publication in the Autumn 2011 issue of Shield & Diamond must be received at the Memorial Headquarters on or before July 15, 2011.Alumni Notes, Alumni Association News and Chapter Eternal may be submitted online at www.pikes.org or via email to pka@pikes.org.
