Safety Nick Moody ’10 had 23 stops and split time with Terrence Brooks ’11, who made 17 tackles, an intercep-tion and defended six passes. Also con-tributing to FSU’s season were safety Justin Bright ’09, quarterback Andrew Nowels ’07, punter Dillon Kidd ’11 and deep snapper Phil Doumar ’09, active on campus as chapter rush chairman and 2012 Delta Gamma Anchor Splash Man. Quarterback Ryan Aplin ’11 led 10-2 Arkansas State to the GoDaddy.com Bowl, was named Sunbelt Conference Player of the Year and was on the NIC All-Fraternity All-American fi rst team. He ranked 10th in total o ense (4,176 yards, 321.2 per game) in NCAA FBS fi nal standings. Aplin’s top games were 37 of 49 for 396 yards versus Western Kentucky, 30 of 58 for 353 yards in the bowl game and rushing for 164 yards on 21 carries against Florida Interna-tional. For the season, he hit 304 of 476 for 3,588 yards, 19 TDs and ran for SHIELD & DIAMOND 588 yards, 10 scores on 161 attempts. All-Sun Belt honorable mention wide receiver Taylor Stockemer ’11 caught 48 passes for 756 yards, seven TDs, including 11 for 185 yards in the bowl game. Another one of college football’s top quarterbacks was Casey Brockman ’09 of 7-4 Murray State , who earned All-American second team honors and placed 11th in the Walter Payton Award balloting for NCAA FCS Player of the Year. He was also Missouri Valley Conference Co-O ensive Player of the Year after throwing for 3,276 yards (316 of 477) and 25 TDs while rushing for 211 yards, four scores. Brockman was FCS National Player of the Week after hitting 45 of 67 passes for 600 yards and seven TDs against Tennes-see State. Other big games were against Jacksonville State (30 of 53 for 421 yards) and Georgia State (35 for 46 for 321 yards, four TDs). Brockman fi nished fourth in NCAA FCS comple-tions per game (28.73) and seventh in passing yards per game (297.82).
