Buck is pleased to announce the promotion of R. Deniger Cobb (Delta State, Zeta Beta ’07) to the position of director of volunteer development, Barbara E. Perkins to direc-tor of creative services/editor, Justin D. True (Old Dominion, Zeta Iota ’08) to the position of director of communications and mar-keting, and Joseph F. Wegelin (Iowa State, Alpha Phi ’07) to director of expansion. As director of vol-unteer development, Deniger Cobb will be charged with recruiting, educating, and support-ing alumnus members who volunteer at various R. Deniger Cobb levels within the organiza-tion. Specifically he will work with the recruitment, retention, and ongoing communication efforts of alumni advisory boards at the local chapter level. Through these efforts, he will continue to oversee the implementation of an alumni advisory board at every PIKE chapter. Cobb will also be charged with implementing the chapter/advisor communication model, maintaining the chapter advisor accredita-tion program and creating further volunteer related resources. Cobb served as chapter consultant during the 2010-11 academic year. He was promoted to associate director of volunteer development in June 2011. Cobb received a bachelor of science degree in biology from Delta State University. As director of creative services/editor, Barbara E. Perkins will continue to oversee the composi-tion and production of the Shield & Diamond , as well as providing creative Barbara E. Perkins design support to all entities of the Fraternity. Executive Vice President Buck said, “Barbara Perkins has been a tremendous asset to the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity for over 27 years, predominantly in its communications department. She has contributed mightily to the success of the Shield & Diamond during that time, and became the 12th editor of that publication in 2002. Her new title will better encapsulate the scope of services she provides to the organization. Barbara has played a significant role in the design of each of the Fraternity’s websites, adher-ence to its creative standards, and has taken a leadership role in the artistic design of countless other projects. We are fortunate to continue to benefit from her expertise.” Justin True will continue to lead Pi Kappa Alpha’s growing marketing and communication efforts. “Justin has brought significant energy and direction to PIKE’s market-Justin D. True ing efforts over the past eight months,” remarked Executive Vice President Buck. “His impact on several of PIKE’s communication and social media outlets has been significant. He has also taken our brand management and licensed vendor program to new heights. With several other major projects coming down the pipeline, recognition of Justin’s efforts with this new title, were certainly well deserved. True had previously served Zeta Iota Chapter as president and as student body president while earning his bachelors degree in communications, majoring in public relations with a minor in marketing. Joseph F. Wegelin was promoted to the position of director of expansion following a six month stint as a chapter consultant. “Joe did an outstand-ing job for us working Joseph F. Wegelin with his chapters in the Carolinas Region as well as his effort with our new colony at Western Michigan University. He brings tremendous passion and organization to a department that is continually recognized as a leader in the fraternal world. The expansion bar is set very high in Pi Kappa Alpha, and I am confident that Joe will exceed those expecta-tions,” stated Executive Vice President Buck. Wegelin served Alpha Phi Chapter on the re-cruitment committee, as vice president and as president. He graduated with a degree in finance with minors in biology and history.
