In 2011, AOCS Press Books and Special Publications continued to shed its print shell and extend its reach into global markets. Via the innovative Books Plus CD-ROM products, as well as AOCS eBooks and individual eChapters, AOCS content remains instantly available for use anywhere in the world. This made it possible for purchasers to use AOCS products in their training programs, for customized “mix and match” content in classrooms, or as needed for research.

In addition to the AOCS Press Web Store, AOCS content resides in the Google global library. AOCS book chapters remain part of the online databases FOODnetBASE, NUTRITIONnetBASE, and CHEMLIBnetBASE of CRC/Taylor & Francis, longtime AOCS partners in book publishing. AOCS content also continues to be available via Knovel, Research & Markets, and ebrary.

AOCS hardcopy books are also distributed by AACC, CRC/Taylor & Francis, and are available via Baker & Taylor, Amazon, and other resellers.

Other 2011 publishing highlights included:
• Springer continued to publish AOCS peer-reviewed scientific journals: Journal of the American Oil Chemists’ Society (JAOCS), Journal of Surfactants and Detergents (JSD), and Lipids. In 2011, Springer- AOCS agreed to increase the number of JSD issues from four to six per year.

• In 2011, AOCS introduced the first issue of C3 Science, a custom publication produced for the Indian Home and Personal Care Industry Association, and the first of a planned series of such publications with content targeted at specific audiences.
